everyone is like “omg tumblr should delete blogs that have been inactive for 2+ years” but i dont think they should

just imagine in 10 years time, in the back of your mind you remember tumblr, you open it up and you’re still logged in and you get to look at your blog and remember all this.

now imagine if you went back to see your old blog of your teenage years and it had been deleted because somebody ‘wanted your url’

how sad would that be

Located in Japan’s Tomamu Resort,  on the island of Hokkaido, the Unkai Terrace is a unique scenic spot perched high atop a mountain peak that is often above the clouds, offering tourists breathtaking views of the white, fluffy sea beneath them. The “unkai” or sea of clouds phenomenon has been attracting tourists to the resort town on Tomamu for years. The natural hot springs in the area and the differences in temperature during the few hours when night turns into day determine the formation of an immaculate white blanket of clouds over the mountainous region.

okay so i just discovered a thing and I had to share:

Project Unicorn is a collection of YA short stories that all feature lesbian heroines. every single story has a lesbian heroine. awesome I know. I literally screamed when I found this book and I have only read a handful of the stories so far but OMG they are so amazing 10/10 would recommend. Apparently they are releasing 2 a week for a whole year so that’s 100+ stories??!!!

here is a short blurb from the authors’(Sarah Diemer and Jennifer Diemer) website:

Written by wife-and-wife authors Jennifer Diemer and Sarah Diemer, this volume of stories, with genres ranging from science fiction and fantasy to the paranormal, is part of Project Unicorn, a fiction project that seeks to address the near nonexistence of lesbian main characters in young adult fiction by giving them their own stories.  PROJECT UNICORN, VOLUME ONE contains the full first three collections of Project Unicorn stories:  The Dark WoodsThe Monstrous Sea and Uncharted Sky

And here is a quote about why they wrote these stories:

“Project Unicorn exists because people need to see themselves in literature, or they are erased, invalidated, invisible. Project Unicorn exists because the only way that the word “lesbian” will stop being synonymous with “porn” is when we’re seen as human beings who deserve stories, and not a fetish. Project Unicorn exists because girls need stories about strength, about vulnerability, about being your own savior. Project Unicorn exists because lesbians deserve stories.”

you can buy volume 1 on amazon here or from their etsy site here

give it a try, and let me know which stories are your favorites :)

“Flapper “
The notorious character type who bobbed her hair, smoke cigarettes, drank gin, sported short skirts, and passed her evenings in steamy jazz clubs, where she danced in a shockingly immodest fashion with a revolving cast of male suitors.”
“The New Woman of the 1920s boldly asserted her right to dance, drink, smoke, and date— to work her own property, to live free of the structures that governed her mother’s generation. (…) She flouted Victorian-era conventions and scandalized her parents. In many ways, she controlled her own destiny”
